To All 8th Grade Students
and Parents:

If you have moved since last
year and have not updated
your address with the school,
you must do so as soon as
information is entered on your
High School Application.
In order to change your
address with the school, you
address to Ms. DiVanna in the
main office. Acceptable proof
of address includes: bank
statement, driver's license,
cable bill, Con Edison bill,
mortgage bill, etc.

If you did not receive school
mail last year or have moved
recently, please make sure the

Does my 8th grade child
school?

distributed to New York City
private and parochial schools.
Can my child go to the
school that his/her older
sister/brother attends?
There is no priority given to
siblings in the high school
application process, with the
exception of some Charter
Schools. However, a student
may list program(s) at the
same school that his/her
older sibling attends.
If a child knows the high
school that s/he wishes to
attend, does s/he have to
apply through the
admissions process?
Yes, every student must
apply by filing a high school
application to become part of
the admissions process.
Are there any zoned high
schools?
Yes. There are some zoned
high schools. Priority for the
zoned program is given only
to students who live in the
school's zoned area. All
students may apply by listing
the zoned program for that
school on their applications.
What information do high

are listed in the High School
Directory. Most of these
programs require that your
demonstrate proficiency in
the specific area of the
program. To learn more
about these schools, it is
recommended that you
attend their Open Houses
and visit their websites.

directly to the schools for distribution. Admit Cards for
all other students are mailed to the address provided
